Homevalue & Barretstown: Building Magic Together

At Homevalue, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce our new charity partnership with Barretstown for 2025, a truly inspiring organisation that brings joy and healing to children living with serious illness.

About Barretstown

Barretstown provides life-changing therapeutic programmes for children and families affected by serious illness and all completely free of charge. Through fun, adventure-filled camps and outreach activities, Barretstown helps children rebuild confidence and self-esteem in a medically safe and supportive environment.

Our Commitment

As an Irish-owned network of locally based hardware and DIY stores, Homevalue is proud to stand with Barretstown in 2025. Throughout the year, our stores across the country and our online community will be fundraising, volunteering and spreading awareness to support the amazing work Barretstown does every day.

Whether it’s in-store events, nationwide fundraising initiatives, or staff volunteering programmes, we’re committed to making a meaningful difference.

How You Can Help

You can join us in supporting Barretstown’s incredible work. Every donation, big or small helps provide more magical experiences for children who need it most.

United Hardware Team Conquers 24km Dublin Mountains Challenge For Barretstown

In May four dedicated members of the United Hardware team, Shashank Bhartiya, Ken O’Toole, Geoff Woodhead and Adriano Viotto, took on the 24km Dublin Mountains Challenge in support of Barretstown, a charity providing free, therapeutic programmes for children and families affected by serious illness. Barretstown was proudly announced as United Hardware’s charity partner in June this year, and this event marks the first official activity in support of the partnership. The charity provides life-changing therapeutic programmes, free of charge, to children and families affected by serious illness.

The funds raised through events like the Dublin Mountains Challenge are vital in ensuring these life-changing services continue. The team embarked on the scenic 24km route, starting from Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght and concluding at Three Rock in Ticknock Forest. This annual event, now in its 11th year, follows the picturesque Dublin Mountains Way and offers participants a choice between a 24km or 42km trek.

We are incredibly proud of Shashank, Ken, Geoff and Adriano for their commitment and effort in supporting such a meaningful cause. Their participation not only highlights the spirit of teamwork within United Hardware but also underscores our dedication to giving back to the community. Well done to all involved, a fantastic achievement
for a truly worthy cause.

Barretstown’s Summer Luncheon - Women In Business

We had a fantastic time at Barretstown’s Summer Luncheon at the K Club, an inspiring event that brought together women from across the business community.

It was a pleasure to be joined by members, as we celebrated the achievements and contributions of women in business.

The afternoon featured insightful conversations around leadership, resilience, and the evolving role of women in traditionally male-dominated industries. It was an empowering space to share experiences, challenges, and successes, and to connect with like-minded professionals making a real impact.

A huge thank you to the Barretstown team for hosting such a meaningful event, and congratulations on raising an incredible amount in support of their important work. We were proud to be part of it.
